It is my honor and privilege to serve as the principal of the South Campus. I have been in education, for the past 20 years, as a middle school Science teacher, a high school teacher, a Science Department Chair and now a Pre-K - 8th grade principal.
I am a proud mother of 2 daughters and a proud grandmother of 2 grandchildren - 1 granddaughter and 1 grandson. I am originally from Mississippi, where I graduated from Jackson State University. I hold two Master's degrees in Education and a Doctorate degree in Education Administration. I have worked with our school district for 19 years. I originally came to NTxCA as a high school teacher, then transitioned into the principal's position. I must say, I thoroughly enjoy serving all of the students in multiple capacities, so I know I am exactly where I am supposed to be!
I have a very simple philosophy that has served me well during my years in education - "Do what is best for kids". The decisions I have made and will make all begin with my philosophy as I clearly understand we are here for the children. With that being said, I am a very visible principal. You can expect to see me greet you at the door, in classrooms, in the cafeteria, in the parking lot, etc... I start each day with a goal to make a difference, and visibility plays a major factor in achieving that goal.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE OUR STUDENTS AND SCHOOL, and I am very thankful to serve our community. I look forward to many more amazing years with NTxCA, as well as us leading and learning together.
In serving the students,
Dr. Donica L. Hill
