Good evening North Texas Collegiate Academy parents, this is Mr. Dix, Principal of East Campus. Happy Mother's Day to all of our Bulldog moms! I have our weekly announcements. Our character trait of the the week is LOYALITY! Thank you to all the parents of current students that have already pre-enrolled for next school year. If you plan on having your student attend NTxCA next year, be sure that you fill out the online Pre-Enrollment form ASAP so that your student's seat gets saved. Also, don't forget to tell your neighbors, friends, and family about us as well! This Friday, all of our EOY CLI and mCLASS testing will be complete for grades PK-4th. Your student's teacher will be sharing results with you and will be glad to set up a time to discuss the data if you request to do so. Tuesday, May 16th, the Dallas Zoo will visit our campus! While we would absolutely love parents to attend, sadly we will not be able to allow this due to lack of space. The cafeteria will be used for the presentation, which will start at 1:00 pm. If you ordered a Field Day t-shirts for your student, they will be coming home on Wednesday. Please check your student’s backpack for their shirt if you ordered one. Students may ONLY wear the new Field Day t-shirt and NOT any old field day shirts from prior years. Students that are not wearing the new Field Day t-shirts will be required to wear their school uniform. Normal uniform khaki bottoms only are allowed on Field Day regardless of which shirt students are wearing. Field Day is on May 18th for PK/Kinder from 8:30 to 10:30 am, and 1:15 to 3:15 pm for 1st-4th grade students. Field Day for middle school students is on May 19th from 9:30 to 11:30 am. Parents ARE allowed to attend. Also, we are still accepting donations of packs of mini bottles of water. And remember, NTxCA is more than a school! Teacher Appreciation Week is next week! The district has Monday - Thursday covered with some fun things for our awesome teachers. Parents, we are asking that you send your teacher treats, cards, etc. on 𝗙𝗥𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗬 of next week. Due to STAAR testing that also occurs next week, all campuses will be closed to visitors and deliveries Monday - Thursday. Thank you!!

Students in 5th and 8th grade will be taking the Science STAAR Test on Tuesday, May 2nd. Students in 8th grade will be taking the Social Studies STAAR Test on Wednesday, May 3rd. Please be sure your student gets plenty of rest before testing days and that they eat a good breakfast (which they can also get at school). It is extremely important that your students get to school on time because of testing. If you would like to provide further STAAR Test practice for your student, please click the links that have been sent to you below in this message: The Texas Education Agency (TEA) Texas Assessment Parent Portal (New question type online practice test): https://www.texasassessment.gov/families.html STAAR Released Tests: https://tea.texas.gov/student-assessment/testing/staar/staar-released-test-questions Our PK students will continue taking the CLI Test this week, and kindergarten through 4th grade students will continue taking the mCLASS Test this week. Field Day is May 18th for PK through 4th grade and May 19th for Middle School Students. Students who do not purchase the Field Day t-shirt must wear their school uniform shirt on Field Day. NTxCA Families, We are blessed to provide over 150,000 pounds of groceries and household items to our families for free every year as part of our mission to be #MoreThanASchool. To ensure all families can receive adequate groceries, the following policies will be implemented effective immediately. 1. All families must list the names of the student(s) enrolled with NTxCA upon sign-in at our North Campus Pantry. After we confirm that you have students currently enrolled with us, you will receive your Visitor's Pass to go shop for groceries. We cannot serve families who do not have children currently enrolled with us but will share information on other local pantries with you. 2. All families must use the shopping bags provided by NTxCA. No outside bags, boxes, carts, etc are allowed. We will give you bags upon entry into the Pantry. 3. While inventory is limited, we must follow the rule of 2 bags per family with no more than 3 packages of meat per family. 4. Families may only shop once per day; no re-entry. As always, if your family has an emergency need, just call our Administration Office at 940-383-6655 and we'll arrange for a pantry visit even on days when the pantry is closed. Thank you for helping us ensure that all NTxCA families have what they need. This Friday, May 5th, Cinco de Mayo, is School Lunch Heroes Day! Please join us in showing thankfulness for Ms. Parada and Mrs. Lara who tirelessly cook, serve, and clean for our East Campus students on a daily basis! And remember, NTxCA is more than a school! If you plan on having your student attend NTxCA next year, please be sure that you fill out the online Pre-Enrollment form so that your student's seat gets saved for the next school year. I want to say congratulations to all of our Bulldog soccer players for pulling out the first place win on in Saturday's tournament! A special thank you to Coach Hudspeth, Coach Woods, Mrs. Hill and Mrs. Overstreet, and our special volunteer coaches Mr. Badillo and Mr. Schmeltz! Thank you to all the families that came out and supported our Bulldogs! Also congratulations to South Campus for getting second place and North Campus for coming in third place.
