*If you are in need of groceries, stop by the campus TUESDAY, Sept 5th, with your ID between the hours of 1 and 4 for this resource
*This Wednesday, September 6th, meet Ms. Nobles in the Jaguar Den at 5:00 for a parent interest meeting for our Jaguar Pep Squad. Our Pep Squad is for our elementary students in grades 1st thru 4th. Immediately following the Pep Squad meeting will be our PAWS (Parent Volunteer Group meeting). If you would like to volunteer on our campus and to support our students and teachers, meet us in the Jaguar Den.
*We are inviting all of our Grandparents, great-grandparents, and parents /guardians who stand in place of a grandparent to join us this Friday for our Grandparents Day Celebration! We will see you on campus at 2:30 until 3:30 for the opportunity to share in some great memories with your student!

*All uniform shirts have been delivered and sent home with students as of Friday, August 25th. EVERY student should be in full uniform beginning Monday! PK thru 4 students MUST be in a BLUE Polo uniform shirt and 5th thru 8th grade students MUST be in a BLACK Polo uniform shirt and ALL STUDENTS MUST be in khaki bottoms! (No exceptions) Students MAY NO LONGER WEAR white polo shirts! Full uniform is blue polo and black polo.
*Our first PAWS meeting will be Thursday at 6:00 pm in the Jaguar Den! If you want to be a parent volunteer and help support our students, teachers, and our campus, I will meet you Thursday at 6:00 pm
*Attention Bus Riders !!! We MUST have your current contact information! Parent arrivals have been late and bus arrivals may sometimes be late and we need to make sure parents are always aware and have communication avenues with this information! Please call the office if you need to update your information TODAY!!! Also, ALL STUDENTS must follow the transportation rules and the Student Code of Conduct at all times! Bus transportation is a PRIVILEGE, not a RIGHT!
*The campus will be closed for the holiday on this Friday, September 1st and Monday, September 4th . We will resume regular school hours on Tuesday, September 5th.

It's Grocery Day! We're excited to open a 2nd Pantry at our South Campus! Both our North Campus and South Campus Pantries are open today 1:00-4:00 to serve currently-enrolled families.
Shopping bags are provided. No outside bags or boxes. Please honor the bag limit per household so that all families in-need are served.

Please do not wear jeans, hats, or caps. Your student will come home today with the picture information. Pictures must be paid for at time of photo. These photos are individual fall pictures. The spring pictures will include the class picture.
SPECIAL NOTE FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHER: AFTER PHOTOGRAPHERS COLLECT ORDER ENVELOPES ON PICTURE DAY THERE IS A $10.00 LATE FEE PER ORDER. Late orders will have to be purchased online and will be mailed to the customers home address you provide.

ATTENTION Jaguar families, here are your announcements for the week of August 21st;
*Our Character Trait for this week is HONOR
*If you are in need of groceries, please visit the campus Tuesday from 1:00 until 4:00 with your state issued ID to be able to shop. We are asking that all parents follow the rules and be respectful to one another during the grocery time. You must also enter AND exit through the front of the building. For safety and security reasons, please do not use the hallway doors to exit the building.
*Also on Tuesday the "Big Red Bus" will have bilingual social workers available to assist families with applications for TANF, SNAP, housing, Medicaid, and other services. No appointment is needed but bring your ID and proof of income, if available. I hope you will visit the campus to take advantage of this resource.
*Join us Wednesday for our "Jaguar Swap." If you have gently used uniform shirts, sweatshirts, spirit wear, or khaki bottoms that you would like to donate to the campus, join us Wednesday, August 23rd from 4:00 until 5:30 in the Jaguar Den and take home a gently used uniform or two!
*Attention After School Program parents, now that we have completed one full week of the program, the rules, policies, and procedures that you provided signature and agreed on will be effective beginning tomorrow. Please make sure you and your student(s) are aware of all the rules during after school program hours. The Student Code of Conduct must be followed at all times. Any student that receives two (2) disciplinary write ups or two (2) late arrivals will be dismissed from the program. We are also in need of two after school program teachers. If you love kids and have some experience with working with groups of children, come to the front office and complete a job application.
*Attention parents of Jaguars in grades PK thru 4, be on the look out for our Pep Squad try out information. Our elementary clubs will begin on September 8th. We currently have the Pep Squad, Music Club, Keyboarding Club, STEM, Gardening, Dance & Exercise Club, and Arabic Club
*If you are interested in volunteering on our campus, please contact Ms. Rosell for a volunteer form. We will soon be gearing up for our first PAWS Meeting. PAWS is our campus group of parents who help to assist and support our campus, teachers, and students! Additional information with be forthcoming! Please consider joining our PAWS Volunteer Group.
*We still have room in our PK, Kinder, 1st and 2nd grade classes! Reach out to your family, friends, and neighbors and encourage them to enroll on our campus! Let them know why we are MORE THAN A SCHOOL and why we LOVE FIRST, TEACH SECOND!
*Finally, we are going into our second week of school as we have had students who have already had absences. Remember, when students are not in school they are not learning. Not only that, daily school ATTENDANCE IS THE LAW! Attendance information with rules and laws will be provided in your mid-week announcements. Make sure your student is at school each day and on time!

*We had a very great start to our school year last Thursday and Friday. On Monday, we will be celebrating independence day for our PK and Kinder students. Our “Boo-Hoo, Yahoo Breakfast” for our PK and Kinder parents will begin at 8:00 until 8:20. Parents, dry your tears and allow the students to independently walk to class on their own! Trust the process parents!! If in doubt, ask Ms. Kim McCowen, whose PK baby is NOW in 3rd grade!!! For safety concerns, we will not allow parents past the cafeteria door. If you have an appointment, you will be escorted to your meeting.
*We still have room in our Pre-K, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade classes! Refer your friends and family in either of these grades to consider enrolling in our public charter campus!
*Reminding our parents about our free counseling services that is available. Contact your student’s teacher regarding the counseling consent form.*Our parent and teacher communication tool will be LIVE on Monday. Be on the lookout for that app and download information in your student’s backpack or yellow folder.
*All parents and family members who were previously members of the NTxCA North Campus Facebook have been deleted. If you would like to rejoin the group, please respond to all questions and identify your currently enrolled student and you will be allowed back in the group.
*The After-School Program will begin tomorrow! All parents have been notified of their acceptance into the after-school program. No student, who is NOT ENROLLED in the program will be allowed to remain in aftercare. Please make sure you pick up your student on time each day. The After-School Program ends at 6:00 pm. Enrichment clubs and activities will be announced soon!
*If your student has a change in transportation prior to the end of the school day, we are asking that you call the office BEFORE 2:30 to let us know and we’ll get that information to your student’s teacher.

IMPORTANT SAFETY REMINDER: Because of safety concerns, please do not park, wait, or line up on the feeder road. You will be asked to move your car to the end of the line if you are waiting on the feeder/access road. All traffic should line up on Barcelona and Schulyer. LET'S KEEP EVERYONE SAFE during after school dismissal!

JAGUAR ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THE WEEK OF AUGUST 7, 2023
*Monday, August 7th is the Mandatory Parent Meeting to review transportation. Join us at 6:00 pm in Jaguar Café. During this meeting we will meet Durham Transportation Supervisors, review rules, policies, procedures, and bus routes.
*Tuesday is Grocery Day ! Please be prepared to show your ID for groceries from 1:00 until 4:00 If you are in need of groceries, we'll see you Tuesday!
*Tuesday is also our Meet the Teacher Night!!! Teachers will be ready to meet the students and families at this come and go event at 6:00 until 7:30 pm. We will see you then!
*THURSDAY, AUGUST 10TH IS THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!!! Please make sure you have returned all of the required enrollment paperwork especially PK and 7th grade immunizations! Students who have not returned the proper paperwork may not sit in a seat in class. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Rosell at the campus
The cafeteria doors will open on the first day of school by 7:15. Breakfast will begin at 7:30. For safety and security reasons, we are asking that all parents leave the building on or before 7:55 as we want to begin our instruction at 8:00.
